Sarah Ramsey, Are We There Yet?
Natural light in the outer court represents what we perceive with our senses.
Brass in outer court symbolizes sin and judgment. Gold in holy place symbolizes purity/deity. Leave behind natural for supernatural (110-111)
Holy Place = worship and intercession. God calls us to a narrower place (118).
Andrew Murray as quoted in Ramsey: "... most Christians spend their entire lives in the outer court without coming past the veil into the Holy Place, and without knowing the illumination of the Holy Spirit" (107).
Two reason:
(1) tradition of men
(2) fear: Christians are so afraid of being deceived, fear man, fear persecution, that they don't go on.
Jesus is the Lampstand. He immerses us in the Holy Spirit, who gives us light to finish the journey.
