Proverbs 19:19, 21
"A man of great wrath will suffer punishment [the penalty]; for if you deliver him [from the consequences], he will [feel free to] cause you to do it again.... Many plans are in a man's mind, but it is the LORD's purpose for him that will stand."

Lamentations 1:20, Amp.
"Behold, O LORD, how distressed I am! My vital parts (emotions) are in tumult and are deeply disturbed; my heart cannot rest and is violently agitated within me, for I have grievously rebelled. Outside the house the sword bereaves, at home there is [famine, pestilence] death!"
Psalm 73:26
"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever."
Acts 5:38
"...if this doctrine or purpose or undertaking or movement is of human origin, it will fail (be overthrown and come to nothing); But if it is of God, you will not be able to stop or overthrow or destroy them; you might even be found fighting against God!"
Beth Moore, Praying God's Word
"If Christ has forgiven [me], satan does everything he can to see to it that I don't forgive myself" (144).
"... guilt experienced before repentance is the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Guilt experienced after repentance is the condemnation of the evil one" (146).
"Let God plunder the enemy by bringing so much good from the bad that Satan will regret ever taking me to that wilderness of sin. What divine vengeance occurs when we let God use our past failures to humble us, to refine us, and to use us all the more effectively!" (147)

Beth Moore Praying God's Word
Lord, I have too long given the devil a foothold. Please help me to stop offering him so many opportunities to bring defeat into my life. Your plan for me is victory.
God, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which You have called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Help me to forget all past failures or even achievements and to focus on pressing forward with You now.

Proverbs 17:1
"Better is a dry morsel with quietness Than a house full of feasting with strife."
John MacArthur Daily Biblecommentary on 2 Samuel 21:2
"Covenant keeping was no small matter to God" (Joshua 9:20).
2 Samuel 22: 2-4
"The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies,,,, He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me; For they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the LORD was my support. He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me (vv. 17-20).
"With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;... With the pure You will show Yourself pure.... You are my Lamp, O LORD; the LORD shall enlighten my darkness.... Your way is perfect; Your word is proven; You are a shield to all who trust in You.... You are my strength and my power, And You make my way perfect (vv. 26-34). You make my feet like deer's feet and set me on my high places."
v. 26, Amp.: "Toward the loving and loyal You will show Yourself loving and loyal."
v. 29, Amp.: "the LORD lightens my darkness."
